How to make free International VoIP calls

Do you have friends or customers all over the world? Or are you planning to expand the network of your relationships, or to expand your business? Then read this article, because this is exactly what it will tell you about.

VoIP calls do not usually use the old telephone network (landline and mobile networks) of the last century, which is called Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), to make free calls. It uses the Internet instead, as its name suggests: Voice over Internet Protocol.

VoIP is a protocol that specifies how voice and multimedia data is transmitted over the Internet. It means that voice and multimedia signals are converted into digital data packets based on codecs, and they are sent to the recipient via the Internet.

As Figure 1 shows, when you make a call on your mobile device, computer or VoIP Phone, your call will be transmitted to the device of the person you call via the Internet and using VoIP. If it is not a Voip phone that you use, then you also need a VoIP client like Skype, Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo! Messenger or any such application.
