FXS and FXO

The FXS and the FXO are used with analog phone lines. You can simply connect your analog devices into a modern telephone system with the help of it.

FXS (Foreign eXchange Subscriber)

Interface on the wall, that forwards the analog service from the company Central Office. This connects to a subscriber device, like a modem or telephone or FAX. This FXS supplies the devices, and the devices can be earn via this interface. The FXS supplies the devices with power, and generates the ring signal, too.

FXO (Foreign eXchange Office)

Interface on the telephone or on another device that receives services and signals from the analog network, mainly via PSTN. This interface receives the power and ring signals that is generated by FXS.

The traditional devices are connected by FXO and FXS ports to the modern Phone Systems. With the help of these ports your Phone System can serve more devices and users.
