How to Make Free Phone Calls with Google Voice

There are loads of options today to make calls, either audio or video, but they do not all provide the same expertise and quality. Google Voice is one of the free voip call providers, but with complex installation and usage, compared to other such services. Google Voice gives you numbers that are independent from the devices you use, since you will get a personal Google Voice number, which you can enter on any device. It works with mobile phones, VoIP phones and desk phones, without downloading anything. How to Make a Call

  1. From its website:

    • At the top left of the screen, there is a Call button. Click on it, then a small window will appear. There you need to enter a name from your contacts, or a phone number, then select the phone, that you wish to use. Then Click “Connect.” Google Voice will call you on that phone and creates a session with the dialled number.
    • If you get an individual message, just click “Call” at the bottom.
    • If a highlighted number appears in your voicemail transcript, it can also be called back only by clicking on it.
    • Call link also works in your Contact Manager

  2. If you call your own Google number

    You can make a call from your voicemail:

    1. Call your Google Voice number
    2. Sign in to your voicemail
    3. Press 2
    4. Enter the desired number
    5. Dial the pound key

  3. Call Phone in Gmail

    You need your computer, with voice and video chat plugin having been installed. If you wish to call a number within PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network, the traditional analog telephone network), then click “Call phone” in your chatlist, then type in the desired number into the Call window and click “Call.”

  4. On cell phone

    Call your contact as usual on your mobile phone. Then when it asks if you want to use Google Voice in a dialog box, touch it. You will see a message that tells you you are using Google Voice, and if need to pay for it, you will hear a message about the charges, and the amount you have left in your account.
