If you would like to connect a VoIP phone to Ozeki Phone System XE, you need to install a new SIP Extension for the VoIP Phone. Any SIP based VoIP phone, such as desktop phone, software based phone or a smart phone with SIP application, can be connected to Ozeki Phone System XE through a SIP Extension. In this guide you will see how to install a new SIP extension and how to configure it.
Firstly, you need to install the Ozeki Phone System XE. When the installation is complete, open it.
After that, the login screen will appear, and you will be asked to provide the username and password given during the installation. After you have provided the login data, click on the Login button (Figure 1).

In the main page of the Ozeki Phone System XE, click on the Install new button at the Extensions panel (Figure 2).

Now, the Extensions panel can be seen. Find the SIP extension in the Standard Extensions section then click on the Install button (Figure 3).

Under the Configuration form of the SIP Extension, you need to specify the SIP account details of this extension. A SIP telephone, SIP softphone or SIP client software can connect to the Ozeki Phone System XE using the following information (Figure 4):

Now, save the configuration by clicking on Ok button. Under the Details menu you can get further information about this SIP extension (Figure 5).
This can be sent via e-mail if you click on Send in an e-mail button. Here you can specify the destination e-mail address. To send an e-mail with Ozeki Phone System XE, you need to install a new SMTP Service Provider connection, and setup a Messages routing rule. If you would like to print it, click on Printer-friendly version button.

Under the Log menu you can get different information related to this SIP extension. For example, you can be informed about VoIP phone registration, incoming or outgoing calls or errors.

Under the Dialplan rules menu you can add dial plans.
By default, every extension can call every other extension. You can read more about the supported ones

If you would like to change the default settings, or you would like to handle outgoing and incoming calls from outside lines, you will need to set up
dial plans for that, for example:

Clicking on the Disable button you can disable an extension. If a SIP extension is disabled, VoIP phones cannot register to the PBX using the disabled SIP account data. Below the Disable button, you can delete the SIP extension by clicking on the Uninstall button.
