Free VoIP Calling techniques

You have probably heard about the free communication techniques that the Internet provides us these days. One such technique is VoIP calling. This article will tell you what it is, and how you can use it in your everyday life.

VoIP Calling is a technique based on Voice over Internet Protocol, which controls voice and multimedia transmission via the Internet. It specifies that the voice signals must be converted to digital data and data packets first based on certain codecs for faster transmission, and then sent over the Internet.

Process of voip calling (Figure 1)

  1. You make a Voip call on a VoIP client application installed on your computer or mobile device, or you can use also your VoIP phone.

  2. Then, with the help of an unlimited Internet pack or a Wifi router, this call is transmitted to another such device via the Internet.

VoIP calling techniques depend on what device and what application you use, and what your conversation partner uses.

Devices:

Your Free VoIP calling techniques can be grouped according to the device you use.

  • Mobile Devices: They need wireless Internet connection availability and a VoIP Client application before you could make a VoIP call on them.

  • Computer: Wired or Wireless Internet connection is needed, depending on the type of your computer (For example: your laptop is likely to handle Wireless Internet, while your desktop PC is not likely to do so.) It also needs a VoIP Client Application to be installed on them.

  • VoIP phone: It is a VoIP client itself, which means that it does the analog-digital conversion by itself. It needs wired Internet connection.

Applications:

  • Skype:

If both ends use Skype, it provides the following for free:
