What are SIP Phones?
SIP Phones are telephones that use VoIP technologies, to make
calls over IP networks, instead of the traditional public switched telephone
network. Although they still can make calls using the PSTN.
SIP Phones can be either softphones or hardware phones. SIP based softphones are
software programs, that allow the users to use their PCs as telephones. For this
we need a headset with a microphone together with a broadband Internet and a
VoIP provider connection.
Hardware SIP Phones are purpose-built hardware devices that appear much like an
ordinary telephone, however they can make calls over IP networks, instead of the
traditional PSTN networks.
Hereby I would like to recommend you the OZEKI Phone System,
because it supports the most popular SIP Phones (both softphones and hardware
phones).
