Fring is a P2P (peer-to-peer) mobile application. It is an internet telephony network, based on VoIP technology.
This mobile application allows users to talk and see each other with the help of Skype, Google Talk, MSN Messenger etc. Fring basically "forms" a bridge between these programs and these programs are able to communicate with each other with the help of fring. Fring provides free mobile VoIP chat on mobile telephones through 3G, GPRS or also Wi-Fi connections.

Fring calls are directed to a VoIP gateway and a PSTN termination server. If you call a PSTN device, your call first goes through a circuit-switched system, like Skype or SIP.
