How to setup a PBX Cluster
In this page you can get to know PBX clusters that are sets of computers that work together. If you are interested in implementing a modern and advanced communication system, read the following pages since it may contain useful information for businesses.
PBX clusters are the interconnection of two or even more PBXs, servers. These servers are the hubs of communication systems.
Two Types of PBX clusters
- Several PBXs are connected together to form a single, bigger system
- The PBXs will be separate, loosely connected in the bigger system
If more servers form one, single server, the capacity of that one server is greatly increased. It will still provide all the PBX features but it will be more reliable because individual servers help each other. There will be no difference in the handling of the phone extensions because it does not have to be decided where an extension belongs to. Figure 1 perfectly shows this example. You can configure internal and external dialling rules, telephone number translation rules, Message Waiting Indicators (MWI) and also IVR (Interactive Voice Response).
At this PBX cluster type, the extensions have to belong to its corresponding PBX. The extenions can be used in other PBXs as well but it must be indicated with a number or digit that is placed before the extension number. This works like area codes to make difference.
Ozeki Phone System is a revolutionary telephone system that provide functionalities of other telephone systems but has extra features that old PBX systems cannot provide. Setting up Ozeki Phone System to be the core of your communication system is a fantastic solution for a company because Ozeki Phone System supports the union of more PBXs.
